A 2-3 player game of stacking skulls in the Sedlec Ossuary. With expansions for solo and 4 players.

Sedlec Ossuary, 16th Century AD.

The Black Plague and Hussite Wars have overcrowded the graveyard. Help the Bone Collector, a half-blind monk, by exhuming graves and arranging the skulls inside the crypt.

You are novice monks, competing to create the best arrangement of skulls. Dig up graves from the graveyard to reveal cards, take cards into your hand to collect skulls, and arrange the cards from your hand into a stack. Whoever better honors the deceased’s last wishes will score more points. The Bone Collector will then declare one player's stack as the most exceptional.

  • Players: 2-3 (1-4 with expansions)
  • Length: 10-15 minutes
  • Age 8+

EXPANSIONS:

Monstrance is a 6-card expansion allowing for solo play.

Executioners is a 6-card expansion that shuffles into the game, adds the ability to play with a 4th player and is fully compatible with the solo expansions. Executioners can score big by attaching them to groups of Criminals.

Castle Guards is a 6-card expansion that shuffles into the game, adds the ability to play with a 4th player and is fully compatible with the solo expansions. Castle Guards want to keep watch over Royals by being above them.

Poets is a 6-card expansion that shuffles into the game, adds the ability to play with a 4th player and is fully compatible with the solo expansions. Poets want to be next to forlorn Romantics for inspiration.

Skulls of Sedlec: Expansion Collection 1 is wallet collection of three 6-card expansions: Merchants, Zealots and Champions. Each 6-card expansion shuffles into the game, adds the ability to play with a 4th player and is fully compatible with the solo expansions. Merchants want to be next to Peasants but avoid criminals. Zealots want to have many Priests above or below them. Champions want to be next to groups of their supporters.

Skulls of Sedlec: Expansion Collection 2 is wallet collection of three 6-card expansions: Executioners, Castle Guards and Poets. Each 6-card expansion shuffles into the game, adds the ability to play with a 4th player and is fully compatible with the solo expansions. Executioners can score big by attaching them to groups of Criminals. Castle Guards want to keep watch over Royals by being above them. Poets want to be next to forlorn Romantics for inspiration.

Skulls of Sedlec: Expansion Collection 3 is wallet collection of three 6-card expansions: Archers, Farmers and Troubadours. Each 6-card expansion shuffles into the game, adds the ability to play with a 4th player and is compatible with the solo expansions.
Archers were once impressive athletes and dangerous warriors. In death, they still seek to hit their chosen Targets. The further the distance, the more prestigious the shot – and the higher the score.
Farmers lead the common folk in tilling the soil and laying the foundation for a successful community. Each Farmer scores for every Peasant on the same level. Well-placed teams of Farmers and Peasants can reap a bountiful harvest.
Troubadours want to strum and sing for their captive audience. The more of them who are playing together, the better they sound. Rather than scoring individually, each group of connected Troubadours scores a set value based on how many are in the group. But having too many musicians muddles the sound: once there are 4 connected Troubadours, any additional ones added to the group no longer improve their performance.

Crown of Bones is a 6-card expansion for allowing for solo play which builds on the solo play of Monstrance, introducing 6 new Features to construct as well as 6 new scoring patterns to incorporate. Crown of Bones is playable without Monstrance but the scoring condition side of the cards will require the skulls from the expansions.

Holiday Features is a 3-card expansion to add to your solo games. Each double-sided card adds either Christmas, Halloween or Valentine features for seasonal play.

Ultimate Champions is a 1-card additional champion, complementing those from the Champions expansion. Ultimate Champions want to be next to other Champions.
