Game of the Week - Universal Rule

Posted by Mike Mullins on

We're back for another Game of the Week special. Wait, where were we last week?... Oh yeah! Launching our latest Kickstarter campaign! We have three very different games available: Hero Tec, Kintsugi, and In Vino Morte. The campaign ends Saturday, and we'd love your support. While we keep tabs on our current campaign, we thought we could celebrate a campaign that ended one year ago. Universal Rule is our foray into 4X territory, and if you missed it the first time around, now is your chance to exploit our generosity and expand your collection. Deep in the Pocket Universe, the...

Game of the Week - Smoke and Mirrors

Posted by Mike Mullins on

Yes, yes, I got all of the emails. And the DM's. And the texts. We'll discuss how you all got my phone number later. For now, I'm happy to announce that yes, we will help you celebrate Halloween by naming our Victorian magician bluffing game Smoke and Mirrors the Game of the Week. We'll even add in a PNP of one of our Halloween-themed postcard games, Scissorcards, for free! Smoke and Mirrors is a bluffing game for 2-5 players, designed by Chip Beauvais, with art by Fabrice Weiss and Sara Beauvais. As the greatest magicians in the world, players will compete for the top spot by trying...

Legends of Sleepy Hollow by Dice Hate Me is a co-op, miniatures based campaign game, filled with flavor and lots of legacy-style campaign gameplay. If you want a deep thematic dive, this is it.  Legends of Sleepy Hollow...

Posted by Mike Mullins on

I'm trying to figure out what made me choose Pod-X to be the next game of the week. Maybe it's because I just saw Blade Runner 2049, and the cool schematic-looking starship art seemed like a good fit. Maybe it's because I saw Daniel Solis, the game's designer, posting pictures from his half-marathon on Twitter (congrats, Daniel!). Then again, maybe it's because I looked at the Game of the Week schedule and saw that Pod-X was next. But who knows, right? Life's a mystery. Pod-X is set in our Pocket Universe, but not on the best of days. Your starship is going...

Game of the Week - SuperP.L.E.X.

Posted by Mike Mullins on

If you've ever looked at Jason Tagmire's Twitter bio, you know that the very first line is, "I collect toys." That's why, when I asked him why he chose SuperP.L.E.X. for game of the week, he replied with the following images (and literally nothing else): Oh, wait! I believe he followed that with, "That would be the entirety of my blog post." But I should at least do that thing where I tell you about the game, mention it's 33% off this week, and post a link to it, right?  In Super Pocket League Extreme Wrestling (SuperP.L.E.X.), players each take the...
